Heartbeat
Without Awareness,
we don't have a Spiritual Heartbeat." - Spirita
I won't repeat the whole passage since in our Wellness blog it was mentioned today and you could (and should) go check it out. But I took this very first line, and identified with the meaning. I wanted to write about what it means for you and ask for your comments on what it might mean for you. Awareness (for me) takes place in a very deep place. As a hobby artist I reflect on it while making art.
Have you ever been so engrossed by an activity that you look at the clock and say, "where did time go?" In an academic setting they say this loss of time evolves out of thinking in the right hemisphere. this right side of the brain allows for creativity and in my opinion allows a person to really connect with themselves. When I get into the right side zone, it is a magical place (kind of like active day dreaming.) Our left hemisphere brain is very linear, logical, rational, and straight forward. We need both sides to exsist, but then when speaking of the above quote, we have two kinds of heartbeats.
One heart beat would be the spiritual heartbeat that connects us with the universe and God; the other heart beat is a physical heartbeat that connects our physical organs together and supplies organs with oxygen and nutrients. I relate the spiritual heart beat is connected to the right side of the brain and the physical heartbeat to the left side of the brain.Awareness in our right side of the brain is a little different than our left side. One needs a surface awareness factor in our logical brain to be open to the possibilities of awareness and self knowledge only available to us in our right side.
Right side brain is related to creativity and play. It is a magical place using your right side brain. If you have never explored this side of who you are. I was in my late 20's before I even knew it existed. I challenge the readers to explore this spiritual heartbeat, creativity, right brain and feel the benefits from the rewards.
The first time I was introduced to this concept of right and left brain thinking was in this book. Check it out on Amazon at :
