Again a selection from one of my favorites. Actually, this Wednesday at 7PM, if you are so inclined, we will be holding our first Spirita Book Meet-up at Tennyson Coffee and Books.

But back to the matter at hand. Awareness of You and who You choose to be has elements of defining yourself. I tend to be one of those people that has a hard time defining who they are. I feel like sometimes in the past I have fallen into a very common trap: defining who you are by an outside source, someone or something.

I see it happen a lot, and while I am probably more apt at identifying it in others than myself, I know I am just as guilty.

If you are one of these people, defining yourself by others or by a title, "Mother", "Sister", "Co-worker" (I'm sure it goes much deeper that that but bear with me) a trick to eliminating this and allowing you to find your true Self would be to eliminate the need to Define yourself.

This means labeling, saying "I am X, Y, and Z." These out side force will change. Change is inevitable. But who you truly are will always be. I have been left stranded in a world of confusion more than once because once my label got taken away from me, I had no idea who I was now.

It is my personal goal this month to try and etch out who I am not based on work, hobbies, or anything else. I have gotten pretty good at this but I'm kinda gonna finish that race now. It will be interesting to see what I will see myself as without definitions.
